Have you ever just finished a sketch and then sat wondering what to do to colour it in? Get lost in a myriad of colour combinations you could possibly use as scheme?

 

Thats what happened to this one. I am on to digitalizing my pencil sketches. I picked this drawing and got stuck in the 'colour-scheme-to-use' phase..

And here's what I finished. Am obviously not fully satisfied with it. But i want to move on to the next project. =)

Strange weather out here in this city. One second its raining and then in a blink of an eye its sunny. Sometimes its both. You have to be here to believe it.

My confidence in colouring digitally has really had a high recently.

I found this picture on a site - I don't remember exactly where.[If someone does please let me know so i can state it here.]

But the owl is so adorable.

 So I had to make one too. Well, two. Two more anyway. =D

Its been a while since i posted any artwork here. I was... busy.. hehe!

So here's something new to share. A new digital piecetook me about 5 hours I think. Still a long way to go to get anywhere near good. But I am workin on it.

hmmm... its a WIP. It was done in a rush yesterday in about 20 mins. I dont know what i was goin to end up with. So there it is.

Choosing the right colours can be such a tough decision..

Phew!!

I am terrified of colouring a sketch I have made. There's a giddy feeling that i might ruin what seems to be a good sketch. Have begun to be over that feeling now. Am excited to show you what I have done.

Sketching 0007 ---- Hurray! for the Return of the Camera!

So, FINALLY! I am putting up some of my works.. Been waiting for the camera to be functionin again and it now is.. I think i have become better at sketchin and there are some drawings that are made with a calligraphy fountain pen which i recently discovered from under my stack of art supplies that have been gathering dust. 'Coz, I was too afraid to use them.

But now, I don't really care. that fear was useless. Was a good attempt me thinks.. Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim cher-ee, chim cher-oo... I don't know why that's playing in my head, thats ok. I think...

So here's some of my works that were good enuf from the rest..

Sketchin 0005 - Zen like! =)

They call it 'Spring-Cleaning'. This is right in the middle of a very brief, but intensely cold winter day in Bengalooru.

I went on a determined cleaning spree anyway. With not enough work area on my table the prety much useless printer is banished. And Voila! The place looks much better. More 'my space', than a dumping ground for junk papers/bills etc thrown in from passers by (not-sayin-who.)

Feel a bit Zen-like now... Free.. Spacious.. Happy! I wish I were on a beach.

Its not perfect. But i had to put this image on paper quickly or it would fade away from my mind. My mind getting caught up in other thoughts which are sometimes vapid and inane. but mostly jumping to the next thought.

Haven't worked on much since. But here are some works from before this blog. Just some random thoughts. Some magic moments when what got drawn on paper, was what was exactly in my head. Others..they just happened, one line to the next.

I have gone back to basics and relearning techniques to draw faces. its still a struggle to maintain the face when i want to draw the same face from a different angle though.
