Back after a long time...

Wow! Its been quite a while.

This will need some updating then... =)

Quite recently I began practising drawing again. Its still not so great. But then, I gotta start some where...

Here they are!

It all began with this.

Art_0017

Have you ever just finished a sketch and then sat wondering what to do to colour it in? Get lost in a myriad of colour combinations you could possibly use as scheme?

Thats what happened to this one. I am on to digitalizing my pencil sketches. I picked this drawing and got stuck in the 'colour-scheme-to-use' phase..

And here's what I finished. Am obviously not fully satisfied with it. But i want to move on to the next project. =)

Comments and suggestions are welcome as always.

Thank you Reader!

Heads Up!

Hi!

I have decided to seperate my badgerings from my art. So this will remain my art site, while my rantings will be shifted to here

Thank you!

Thank you for visiting.

Hi there!

Strange weather out here in this city. One second its raining and then in a blink of an eye its sunny. Sometimes its both. You have to be here to believe it.

My confidence in colouring digitally has really had a high recently.

Remember this ?

Its now finished! Yeah, I shouldn't be surprised. But I am. LOL!

Here it is..

Thank you for visiting.

Art _14 Owlieee

If you didn't already know, I'll say it again, I love Owls...  =)

I found this picture on a site - I don't remember exactly where.[If someone does please let me know so i can state it here.]

But the owl is so adorable.

So I had to make one too. Well, two. Two more anyway. =D

And I am Back! No. 13

Its been a while since i posted any artwork here. I was... busy.. hehe!

So here's something new to share. A new digital piecetook me about 5 hours I think. Still a long way to go to get anywhere near good. But I am workin on it.

The BG was just a rushed thing. Please ignore it.

Comments are like always, welcome.

Thank you. =)

Summer/Monsoon Garden visitors

This summer our trees and bushes have grown big/strong/tall, encouraging the aviary families to come check out the realty. =P

Some regular visitors for food are the common Mynahs, Parakeets and the "Seven Sister" birds (quite the chatty bunch!). Also the Koel, occasionally the Black Drongo, a Great Coucal (which has disappeared, i think my cats caught it), the White Throated Kingfisher and a pair of Bulbuls.

There are a few more. But I haven't figured out their names yet.

Please forgive the layman photography. I am not skilled enough to take pictures of birds that flit so incessantly. =)

Comman Indian Mynah

Far far away..

Since we've moved to the out skirts of the city, it has been a boon and a bane. Travel is a downer. But I have to say that the mellowness is quite soothing. Its seduces you to do nothing but watch nature in all its glory. And for that I am glad.

Art 0012___ I am Owl Crazy

I havent much else to say...  =)

hmmm... its a WIP. It was done in a rush yesterday in about 20 mins. I dont know what i was goin to end up with. So there it is.

0011... WIP...

Choosing the right colours can be such a tough decision..

So, leaving that out, this much was done in 3 hours..

Sketch 0010

Phew!!

I am terrified of colouring a sketch I have made. There's a giddy feeling that i might ruin what seems to be a good sketch. Have begun to be over that feeling now. Am excited to show you what I have done.

Sketchin 0009......Leadin on

Ok, So now i am a little more regular with works. More than usual,  you might say. what with being MIA for a little over two months..

Hadn't posted these the last time..

From a reference

S'more... Sketches 0008

Keeping up with the updates..
More inks..

Sketching 0007 ---- Hurray! for the Return of the Camera!

So, FINALLY! I am putting up some of my works.. Been waiting for the camera to be functionin again and it now is.. I think i have become better at sketchin and there are some drawings that are made with a calligraphy fountain pen which i recently discovered from under my stack of art supplies that have been gathering dust. 'Coz, I was too afraid to use them.

But now, I don't really care. that fear was useless. Was a good attempt me thinks.. Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim cher-ee, chim cher-oo... I don't know why that's playing in my head, thats ok. I think...

So here's some of my works that were good enuf from the rest..

Fountain pen tests...all these...

Holidays Ho...

No no, i didn't go on a long holiday to any place. wish i had, but no.

Soon, i hope.

But until then, you can have a read, if you like.

I have been trying out crazy ideas. clearing up my beads by converting them into something to be worn. They turned out pretty well i think. Will put up those pictures soon.

Sketched 0006... Surprise!! =|

Here's another attempt at digitally colouring in a sketch. All critiques welcome.

Any tips on how to add highlight the lips?

Thank you. =)

Sketchin 0005 - Zen like! =)

They call it 'Spring-Cleaning'. This is right in the middle of a very brief, but intensely cold winter day in Bengalooru.

I went on a determined cleaning spree anyway. With not enough work area on my table the prety much useless printer is banished. And Voila! The place looks much better. More 'my space', than a dumping ground for junk papers/bills etc thrown in from passers by (not-sayin-who.)

Feel a bit Zen-like now... Free.. Spacious.. Happy! I wish I were on a beach.

Its not perfect. But i had to put this image on paper quickly or it would fade away from my mind. My mind getting caught up in other thoughts which are sometimes vapid and inane. but mostly jumping to the next thought.

Sketchin......Nothing In Particular

Haven't worked on much since. But here are some works from before this blog. Just some random thoughts. Some magic moments when what got drawn on paper, was what was exactly in my head. Others..they just happened, one line to the next.

This was just drawn as a joke...

an awestruck ET (kid?)

A quick series of sketches for a lil' ballerina

Sketchin 0003

Creating characters that are opposite in proportion. Only sketching for some time now. Will begin colouring in when I have more appropriate tools.

But for now..
